Survey in Kabardino-Balkaria: 58% of balkarians are ready to participate in protest actions

Opinion poll showed that most residents of Makhachkala (47%) as their most important information source use television. Among the most popular TV chanells were RTR (12%), ORT (10%) and REN TV (10%). The second most popular information source is press including local newspapers “Chernovik” (5%), “Novoe delo” (4%) and “Svobodnaya respublika” (3%). Among central newspapers are most popular “Novaya gazeta” (4%) and “Rossijskaya gazeta” (3%).

Internet turned out to be the third most popular source of news and information. The most popular sites include www.yandex.ru (7%), www.kavkaz.memo.ru (3%), www.rambler.ru (2%), and www.ria.ru (2%).

9% indicated radio as their main information source. Among the most polura radio stations were “Ekho Moskvy” (4%), Radio Svoboda (2%) and Evropa Plus (2%). 4% as their main information source use international TV channel EuroNews. Friends and relatives as major ource of information were mentioned by 4% of those polled, which is considerably lower than in other North Caucasus republics.
